Taking place on September 5th at Wild Hudson Valley in Cairo, the workshop is a 29 minute drive from Stoneline Chalet and a 26 minute drive from Le View Chalet. Join a guided nature walk as you search for seasonal wild edible plants and fungi, including wild grapes, blackberries, nuts, sumac, and various forest botanicals. Learn how to identify edible and medicinal species, recognize their look-alikes, and understand how to harvest them sustainably. After exploring, participants can even sample some of the finds from the workshop. Whether you’re looking to expand your knowledge of nature or simply want to experience the beauty of the Catskills in a new way, this workshop is sure to leave you with a new appreciation for the environment around you.
Sunset Safari Event
As the summer season begins to fade and cooler September evenings arrive, experience the Catskills from a completely different perspective at Sunset Safari. Located at Bailiwick Animal Park and Riding Stables, this event takes place on September 12th and is a 34 minute drive from Le View Chalet and a 36 minute drive from Stoneline Chalet. Explore the animal park after hours while enjoying animal talks and enrichment, live music, food, and refreshments. Guests 21 and older can also enjoy wine while taking in the evening atmosphere. Open to families, couples, and friends, Sunset Safari provides a fun way to spend an evening surrounded by animals and the natural beauty of the Catskills. 47th Annual Chicken BBQ Event
Feeling hungry after exploring the Catskills? The 47th Annual Chicken BBQ has a delicious solution waiting for you. Taking place on September 12th at Catskill United Methodist Church, the event is a 37 minute drive from Stoneline Chalet and a 35 minute drive from Le View Chalet. Celebrate the 47th year of this community tradition with a marinated and grilled half chicken, fresh corn on the cob, homemade salads, desserts, and beverages. Running from 3pm to 6:30pm, this event is the perfect way to spend an afternoon enjoying good food and the welcoming community that makes the Catskills special. Come hungry and enjoy a homemade meal while taking part in one of the area’s longstanding traditions
Meadowbrook Farm Country Mountain Music Jam Event
Although September begins the transition from summer into fall, the music and fun do not have to end just yet. Located at Meadowbrook Farm, the Country Mountain Music Jam takes place on September 26th and is a 29 minute drive from Le View Chalet and a 31 minute drive from Stoneline Chalet. From 1pm to 9pm, enjoy live country music, dancing, great food, cold beer, craft cocktails, and beautiful mountain views. Bring a chair or blanket, gather with friends, and settle in for an afternoon and evening surrounded by live music and the scenery of the Great Northern Catskills. Admission is free, with a $10 parking fee, making this event an easy and enjoyable way to spend your September day.
